I'm trying to learn color and composition by doing these tiny studies (http://www.ctrlpaint.com/the-tiny-study/). I'm going to do more of these for a few days more to cut down the time spending on each one and loosen up.
I haven't done the Daily Sketch Challenge for a while. All the Halloween themes are not helping my recent nightmares. I like her character design though so I decided to try. I took an hour instead of 30 mins again, enjoyed it too much.
It's nice to just draw something fun. I had this image of a happy little green monster with orange turf of hair and orange scarf sitting on a tree, so I tried to draw it out. Not quite the design in my head but I'm happy with his happy face.
Homework week 1. Using oil paint, getting my feet wet, and paint mess everywhere @____@.
That was fun. Now I'm facing the dilemma of how to carry all the stuff to the site tomorrow, and transporting the finished, still wet, oil, paintings...
I just finished reading the book Acting for Animators by Ed Hooks. An excellent book dealing with behavioral psychology. I highly recommend all animators to pick up a copy. It also explains why rotoscoping animation's acting doesn't match with the voice acting in many 3D movies (*cough* Resident Evil Damnation).
My third sketch theater. I think these are getting a little bit better.
I made a new friend, Mez, he's an awesome cartoonist, and he gave me some great tips on establishing the poses. Check out his blog at http://meztoons.blogspot.com/
My take on Bizarro.
Bizarro I know was the one from Warner Bro's Superman: The Animated Series, so this one bears all his character. The shape came to my mind when I was in the shower; great place to think, not much are remembered after I'm done.
It's already week 4 of class. Peter is an amazing teacher. A lot of homework, but I so look forward to the weekend to draw among other learning artists. Gotta grow!
